It took me YEARS to perfect the most realistic flower crown. My flower crown Etsy shop was open for 5 years, and thankfully saw a big success- but with so much trial and error in the beginning. I’m here to share my top tips and tricks to making the most affordable and REALISTIC flower crown possible. I’ve made a video showing each step- but will bullet point tips below. Hope you enjoy!

Flower Crown Tips and Tricks:
-Buy faux florals in person. I RARELY ordered anything online. They were pricier, and I liked to see and feel the flower before i'd put it on a crown. Even some of the highest rated, most expensive online faux florals looked very unrealistic in real life.
-My favorite places to buy florals were JoAnns craft stores and Hobby Lobby.
-I rarely, if ever, purchased the "seasonal" florals. They were typically lower quality and not much cheaper than the "silk" or "wedding floral" section. The silk and wedding florals ALWAYS looked better.
-Know your coupons and sales. Hobby Lobby's higher quality floral stems go on %50 off sale every other week. On the off weeks, their garlands are on %50. You can simply check their app to see if the sale is on that week. Joann's isn't as predictable with their sales for the higher quality floral, so instead I would wait for there to be good coupons on the app and I'd stock up.
-Green wire for wrapping the florals onto the crown isn't always the best option. I usually used muted greens and earth toned foliage, so a thin silver or gold wire for wrapping usually hid better than a green that was a different tone than my crown's foliage.
-Floral wire stems are used for my base, and for adults- I leave them the size they are. It's a perfect length to add a tie closure on to.
-When wrapping the florals onto the wire stem (as seen in the video below), I would wrap at the base of the floral, and then hide my wire under petals and leaves as i'd wrap and attach it. This secures the foliage without smashing it and hides the wire quite well!
Good luck, and let the family picture season commence! Flower crowns for all!
